The Stolen Rum Challenge
Stolen White Rum is one of the world’s best. As judged by industry judges. We thought it would be good to get the public’s opinion too – so we put ourselves on the line and hired an independent research agency, Perceptive, to hold a series of blind taste tests with Stolen White Rum compared to the world leading white rum.
We called this the Stolen Rum Challenge…
The Stolen Rum Challenge was held at Taste of New Zealand, Britomart Country Club, Racket and A&M Bar in Auckland, New Zealand. Perceptive has collated results and reported back that 61% of people preferred the taste of Stolen White Rum over the world market leader. That’s a good result, for Stolen Rum. Not bad for a tiny rum company from New Zealand.
We can reveal that the market leading white rum involved in the Stolen Rum Challenge blind tests was Bacardi.
This got us thinking that maybe if Bacardi tasted like Stolen White Rum, more people might be tempted to drink white rum and Bacardi might sell more rum. Having more people drinking rum is good for the industry and for rum. Because we love rum so much, we have written to Bacardi and invited them to steal our White rum. No strings attached rum love.
Our sales volumes are small, so there is still plenty to go round. We’ll quietly go about our business, but Bacardi can have some instant uplift. They can use our stats too if they wish, to help with marketing.
If you have an opinion on whether Bacardi should take us up on our idea or not then you could vote in our Facebook poll, ‘Should we offer Bacardi our Stolen White Rum recipe’ – click here to cast your vote..
